Rationale
Prostaglandin. Probably only insignificant hepatic exposure.
Chemical description
Tablets, 0.2-0.8 mg/d. Synthetic prostaglandin, which is inhibitor of gastric acid secretion. Mucosaprotective effect against ASA induced gastric lesions. Metabolized in several organs by beta-omega oxidation. Misoprostol and misoprostolic acid is excreted by the kidneys and faeces as various metabolites.
